This leash is as advertised. Has two handles (both padded) and is extra long. Its exactly what I wanted. I do have two small knocks on it however.1) The leash material is a little thinner than I am used to, and its more stiff/tough. I'm sure it allows it to be as strong as others without being as thick. The issue for me is, I don't trust the stitching where the handle wrap re-attaches (not on this, but just in general), so when I wrap a loop of leash around my hand, its strong sharp enough to be very uncomfortable. My 4' and 6' leashes I've got at pet stores previously never did this. That's probably a "me" thing, since it has to do with trusting the stitching. Probably not an issue for most folks.2) Of bigger complain to me was that the black in the leash is still coming off in my hand after repeated use. First time... ok, maybe. Days later? I'm annoyed by that. And its hard to get off your hands - soap doesn't do it, you have to scrub with a brillo pad. May be related to me wrapping the leash around my hand - but I think its actually the soft part. I bought the black one, may not apply to other colors.Those two aside, to get a 8' leash is awesome. This lets my pooch have a little more range (but allows me to keep her short when I need with the 2nd handle). Pooch loves it. She's getting to explore new ground on our route that she's previously not been able to cover.

I LOVE this design. Just adopted a 2 year old dog for our local shelter and had to start at square one with the leash training. She's a medium sized dog so the lead keeps her right at heal without too much slack and no tension. When she's free to roam the second handle give TONS of controlled space for her to walk ahead and still remain safe/under my watch.I would have rated this 5 stars - She got ahold of the leash when we were out for a short time (my fault, I thought it was up high enough) and chewed on it a bit. It was pretty easy for her to get through the leash in a few spots and the second handle is a bit damaged. Still works great! I think we just need a leather leash for her; in case she gets a hold of it when we're out again.

We have a puppy that is just about over a year old and we have been struggling taking him on walks because he is an extreme Puller and with him Weighing over 60 pounds that is not feasible for us. We love our walk time with the puppy so we had to figure out an option that would help us while walking him so when I saw this leash and I read the reviews I figured we would try it, so now with this training leash and some well spoken commands our walks are no longer a nightmare. This leash features two separate handles there is a long 8 foot 1 and then a short one that's about 3 foot that really allows you to get a hold on your dog while you are around people or for whatever reason you want to reign them in I really like the short lease feature because it allows me to keep my dog right next me while I'm walking and it has really helped with his training. It is not such a constant tug-of-war when we walk him anymore. I suggest that you buy this lease if your having problems with your dog pulling cause it really does work and help with the problem. I love this leash!! It's made walking/training my dalmatian way easier. Let me tell you why.We didn't want to get one of those retractable leashes because we wanted to make sure we could control the dog easier if she tried to go after someone or something but we wanted a leash that was long enough for her to run around with is and this leash is it, and if we needed to keep her close we just pull it in to the second handle and bam keep walking. Its also nice to use the shorter handle because I'm trying to teach her not to walk ahead of me so I'll just use that one to keep her by my side.I can also wrap it around my waist so I can jog with my dog and their is still enough room so she not right up under my legs. The leash is really strong, I'm not worried about it ripping or snapping on us. So bravo to the quality.One criticism I would say is that I wish it had like a strap attached to it so while you're using the shorter handle you don't have the excess leash waving around.But all in all its a great leash and I would definitely recommend it.

As advertised, this leash is long - perhaps a bit too long but that's not the manufacturer's fault, simply my taste. I'm happy with the quality of the handles and they are extremely comfortable. I have the leash attached to a training chain and I have found that the lower handle is sometimes a bit too high for 'heel' training so I need to hold onto the leash itself. In contrast to the handles, the leash material is uncomfortable to hold and it would be nice if it were a softer more malleable material.

Very handy to have 2 handles. It can be too long when using the shorter one and drags on the ground, causing me to trip up the dog or myself, so I wrap it around my hand an extra time which makes it a little bulky in my hand. However, the handle on the end is long enough for him to do his business in more "privacy" and the closer handle works better for walks. The spare poo bag works nicely on the end handle as it's usually around my wrist.

So this leash is much longer than I imagined it would be -- we normally have 4' leashes and I didn't think 8' feet would be so ...massive. That being said, the second handle on this is AMAZING. When my puppy gets worked up at 8' I can quickly shorten her to 1' with a full on handle and then I've got immediate control of her again. It also allows me to let her explore a large area and not have to follow into the pee / poop ridden park.The leash is extremely durable and thick. Easy to hang on to and doesn't burn your skin when they start pulling or running around like a fool :)The thickness of it makes it a little difficult to wrap around your hand but i do just one big loop and then I am able to grab the lower handle if need be. Overall it's great and good for practicing recall if your dog needs to work on that (which is what we're doing).
