As you can see in the photo, super easy to puncture a hole in anything you sit on. Pretty happy the first surface I sat on had durable fabric. Not sure the leather would have fared as well. I get the open bottom design, but a full holster would be more practical all around. The pliers are great! Nice feel in my hand and very light. Great look and design. I also got the quick knot tying tool. The cutter is super slick for mono - not so much for braided (not that it's intended to be). The set came with a lanyard for each tool. Great design on the pliers lanyard. Not much to rust or corrode. The quick knot tool lanyard is okay, but the connector latch is flimsy and easily bends which caused it to fail once already. You can bend it back for a quick fix, but could eventually cause the loss of the tool. Overall great tandem and value. Five stars for the pliers, three for the quick knot took (gimmicky but fun) zero for the holster.

The little knot tying and tag clipping tool is just ok. You really can only use it for tying braid but it can only cut mono. Inhave 6lb to 300lb braid and cant cut any of it cleanly with the like tool. Now the pliers are awesome. They make this a 5 star product. The little nippers on the pliers cut mono, braid, and even wire. I havent tried cutting big wire just some 30lb fishing wire. They are very ergonomically as well. I will probably purchase another set of pliers just to have in hand. They are all aluminum except for the jaws and cutter which both are replaceable. If they sell replacements that is. So you dont have to worry about they getting rusty.

I seem to have bought five different fishing pliers like this in the last couple of years. They're all pretty good, but this one is my favorite. Like all of its features. The line clippers are good too, for mono and braid. Treat yourself and buy this one.

Pliers worked for a week did what expected, but when using on larger hooks. When clamping down the pliers began to bend and jaws never lined up properly. Tried to bend it back and aluminum frame cracked and broke. Upset the pliers only lasted a week.

First off, the pliers, because that's the main event: The cutters are terrible. From day one they had trouble with braided line. These have now been relegated to using exclusively as pliers, and never cutting line. Just a few months in they barely cut mono anymore.Second, the tool thingy. Not sure what to call it. The cutters on this (look like nail clippers) is easily the worst cutting tool I have come across, ever. From day one they had trouble cutting mono. (Most of my line ranges between 10-15 lbs - so not heavy line).The single most useful thing in this purchase for me was the retractable lanyard. Thus far it seems to work, we will see how it does with prolonged use.

These pliers worked well in cutting mono and braid. I used these deep sea fishing with heavy test. No issues. The pouch is not very functional and the pliers don't seem to fit correct. Do not attach the lanyard to the belt pouch as it snags everything you walk by. Good other than those issues.

These were great pliers for about 3 months! I primarily dish 30-50lb braided lines and this just did not meet the standard. after 3 months of light use, the line cutters have such a hard time cutting even my lightest braid. Great tool none the less just need something that is specific to cutting heavy braid year around.Great for beginners.

Would really like a simpler attach to body other than by belt. Would like it to be more comfortable wearing to release and put back pliers, very good removing hooks without struggles grabbing hooks .
