Resource for Cooking Stainless Steel Manual Can Opener

I just tried out my new can opener and I love it. I had an electric can opener that is #1 rated here on Amazon that I had been using but I noticed metal shavings coming off the cans (other reviewers have mentioned this too) and that scares me. Also, the electric can opener sometimes would NOT open up the new type of cans. All other manual openers I have owned were so hard to operate that I finally just went through about every manual can opener review here on Amazon and finally found one that is perfect! This should be in every kitchen, YOUNG and SENIORS. All other openers were trashed immediately. I would NOT let the sharp edges stop you from buying this type of opener, just be careful and make sure the lids are cleaned off before opening AND the opener is cleaned and dried after ever use. I just could not stand the thought of a metal shaving going into my can goods unaware. I rather have this type of opener than risk swallowing metal.

I bought 3, one to take to Florida home, one from home here in Baltimore and one for our camper. I planned to save myself from frustration everywhere I cook, so I just replaced them all! The one I am using at home is working perfectly… I love that the construction of this opener is stronger than the cans. Why didn’t someone else think of that?

I love this can opener. I have had a couple of those can openers that take the rim off, but I have been having a hard time prying the lid off, so wanted a new can opener that was easy to turn and get the lids off. This one works great!

These are heavy duty and comparable to kitchen aid. They're pretty smooth and involve little work when opening a can! I would greatly appreciate it if you would mark my review helpful, as I hope this helped!

This is the worst can opener I think I've ever used in my lifetime: even the old flat-metal one in our picnic basket isn't this shabby! Surely this isn't the same product that's received such rave reviews as I read before purchasing it. Maybe manufacturers don't see the necessity in producing a high-quality manual can opener when an electric one is readily available, but we don't see the purpose in buying & storing yet another power tool to do a job that has been as simple as pulling out a drawer, removing the tool, using it, running it in the dishwasher (which you can hardly do with a power tool), & putting it back into the drawer. It's been about 6 weeks since we bought this can opener, so it may not be returnable ... & it might not be worth gathering up the materials & making a trip into town to return it; but I probably should do the above, if for no other purpose than to throw this trash back into the face of the supplier.

One of the best manual can openers I have ever had. Easy to turn crank, opens cans with no problems & I have now had this for a couple of months. I will order another one for sure if I ever have to replace it.

Apparently there are big quality variations with this product. I read the good reviews and bought one. Could NOT open any of the cans I tried. Gears DO NOT mesh properly. Completely useless. Hated to give it even one star. Advertised as marked down from $49.00 what a ripoff.

Worked as described, sturdy, sharp and efficient. Light weight, turns smoothly and with little resistance making it gentle on the wrist. No rust spots as of yet, easy to clean, pleased to have purchased this standard tool. Would buy from again.There is not much to say about can openers, most people utilize electric, but I have never appreciated the noise. However, it has become harder and harder to find reliable manual openers in local places- whether it is from a lack of quality metal or a product of the times, can openers have become difficult to find in a decent quality. Therefore I am pleased to go the extra mile to review this tool from Resource for Cooking. It has done everything I expected, and met a decent standard for materials without being overtly expensive. I am only a simple cook in my own home but even I can appreciate the smoothness of this tool and the gentle ease on my wrists. I could almost swear it has a better lock down on the can itself so there has yet to be a dropped accident. Works on heavy duty cans, such as canned Spaghetti Sauce and lighter fare such as White Tuna. I am by no means an expert, but you don't have to be to utilize this quality can opener.For those who "just want a can opener", I would recommend this one.
