This HUMVEE HMV-VS-K-M Safari Vest is perfect for anyone who needs a comfortable and versatile way to carry equipment.
I just love this vest! I use it for my photography adventures. I am able to equal out the weight of my equipment (lenses mainly) with the pockets available. I like not only the amount of room but also the location of the pockets. What I mean is that you don't have to twist and turn to get to one thing or another. The smaller pockets are easily accessible without needing to get past or around the larger items. That is more helpful than one might realize. To be able to access everything with ease, will make your next excursion much more comfortable if your not having to fight to get something you need, fast. The pockets can be close meaning when you need to bend over or reach down to pick up something, you don't have to worry much about those expensive lenses falling out. Some pockets have zippers, some have velcro, and some are buttons. It is a bit long, but that was good for me. I am 5' 7" and I weigh about 110lbs. So weight distribution is an absolute must! I ordered a medium and the shoulders are a perfect size so I never feel like it might slide off. It's the oversized length that gives room to make those deep pockets. And because it hangs low, the heavier items don't feel like they are pulling your head and chest over. The material feels very well made. The inside, on your back anyway, has a mesh layer. And on the outside, the solid vest material has a couple of vertical slits from the top ALMOST all the way down, which exposes the mesh and allows for airflow, very nice! I say 'almost' all the way down because spanning the waist area, from one side to the other, is yet another pocket! So, overall, this gets the highest grade from me. I recommend it to anyone who needs a comfortable, sturdy, and a very versatile way to make it much easier to go on any kind of excursion.

and frankly it's annoying that if you search 'woman's photo vest'
I ordered this because I thought the medium was a female 'medium'.... but when it came, it hung off me. I'm not tiny girl.. and frankly it's annoying that if you search 'woman's photo vest'.. they don't come up with anything but men's. I sent it back. I am 5'5" and weight 145lbs... and even with a large sweater, it was hanging off my body.... I could wrap it cross over to about 10 inches at the zipper. Just some info for anyone who is smallish... or not a normal man.

Good product, a little too expensive
I was able to get the Medium size beige for $20, which may have been some mix-up, but if I had to pay $40 or more - as priced today - I wouldn't have purchased it. I use it as a photographer's vest. It is a decent product, it fits nicely and has many pockets to fit all my photography accessories. However, the fabric is very light and feels like it would rip easily, if pushed, and it also folds and creases too easily, making it harder to access the pockets. Also, it seems like you never have the right size pocket, but that is subjective. On the other hand, if it were made of thicker fabric, it would have been way too hot to wear. As for sizing, It must be sized to be worn on top of other clothing because I am size L to XL and the medium I ordered fits me just fine, when worn over just a T-shirt. Finally, the main front zipper was not working - had to file it and it will still only open when the pull tab is pulled straight up, away from the chain. So far I've worn it 8-9 times over 5 months and it has been holding fine. I will update this review it wears out prematurely.

Lightweight, well constructed, tons of storage space
I purchased this vest to replace the backpacks and cargo pants that I've used in the field as my standard gear for the past 22 years. I got sick of carrying useful items on my back and banging around my legs, so I took a cue from my fishing vest and opted to purchase a cargo vest. It holds most everything my backpack does and has the added bonus of making these items immediately accessible, rather than constantly having to remove my pack, rummage around, and potentially forget it on a rock somewhere as I continue to wander. Zippers, snaps, stiching, and velcro all appear secure and well-reinforced, but time will tell. I'll note that I took the advice of previous reviewers and orderd a size smaller than I normally would since the vest is reported to be large, and it fits perfectly. So if you normally wear a large, order a medium, etc. I highly recommend this vest as a useful piece of field equipment for geologists, paleontologists, photographers, and others who are in the field and need to carry lots of stuff.

This thing is fantastic! Allready thinking about getting a second.
#1: It fit dead bang like a vest should. I am a big guy 6'3" 300lbs and this 3x large fits perfect for a vest. Just loose enough where I can fill the pockets and wear a jacket or hoodie under it if need be.#2: I am a photographer and yes it has plenty of pockets for everything. Inducing Larger lens's and speedlight flash. And I can get to the equipment in my pockets much quicker than in my pack, Or even leave the pack in the car and till have a couple of different lenses and the flash.3: I noticed several people complaining about the light weight. I don't know I like the light weight and fact that it breaths. I tend to be working when I wear it and don't want to get hot. And though it's not made out of stop rip material like my BDU shirt seems bloody well sturdy to me. Light weight good! Heavy is hot n bad.lol And though it's light weight it's not cheaply made.4: It's Fun and yes professional! Carrying a pack in a pain in the hind quarters, Wearing a vest is just plain fun, it's quicker to grab my camera and vest when in a hurry. And in all honesty yes it makes me look a little more like a professional photographer rather than just a neanderthal with a camera. lol. I'm probably even going to get Stirling Photography patch made for it.

Great quality and looks good!
Very pleased with this vest. It does run large but it’s unisex so makes sense. Reading previous reviews I went with a M.I work in media production and need a lot of pockets and this is well made and I highly recommend. I normally wear a ladies size L to XLarge in shirts. I can wear a blue jean jacket or sweatshirt with the Medium Size if I have to work outside in cooler weather.

Great vest. It's very light weight and has lots ...
Great vest. It's very light weight and has lots of pockets. The only negative is that it tends to run smaller than the stated size. It fits great in the chest, but it then narrows substantially when it gets to the belly region, which isn't great if you have a fair sized mid region, like me. If the measurements had stayed the same, it would have fit perfectly.I had to order the XXL as the XXXL was out of stock. I bought it based on the fact that the chest measurement was 57 inches according to the size chart. It is indeed 57 inches in the chest, but where it zips up (mid-section) can't be any more than about 53 or 54 inches, a substantial difference. So, if you are going to buy one, keep in mind that the mid section is going to be quite a bit smaller than the stated size and perhaps order one size larger, if necessary. Apart from that, it's a great vest. I spent a few dollars and got it adjusted to my size by a tailor. It cost less than it would have to return it. So now, I have a great little vest that fits me fine. :)

fits very large
I ordered the small vest but it is much too large. I am a small woman, so I expected some slack in the fit, but it was far too loose and far too long. I also found the zippers to be quite balky. I had intended to wear it when I did photography. The pockets were well-designed and there is lots of space for gadgets and items. If it had fit better, I would probably have kept it.

Useful and high-quality vest
This is a high-quality vest with numerous pockets as advertised. I travel a lot with heavy photographic gear and it is immensely useful. You can rely on this vest being exactly as advertised and then some. I also found the sizing quite true to form. I am a slightly heavy woman and the large is generous for me. I usually wear a women’s XL and even the medium would have fit me although I appreciate the generous fit of the large So I can stow extra gear and still zip it up comfortably. Enjoy!

Good quality open country vest; but vents could hang up in the bush
Lots of pockets, fit is bulky (I like that) but the vents could hang up in the bush or let the biters in. One could sew them up if needed but it would be good to have zipper vents so they could be closed. In open environments, this outfit works great. In the bush, the jury is still out but it seems there are few options for good photo vests these days.

a nice replacement for my now worn out Domke Photogs vest
The vest is everything stated it is, a nice replacement for my now worn out Domke Photogs vest. The only negative thing I have found so far is the shoulder loops, they will work fine only if you have a very narrow camera strap. Otherwise nice vest.

Canadian here
So i don't need the gun elastic thinggy. Still is cool. Zippers for the internal pockets would be nice.

The fit is accurate I am 6'3" 230 and the 2XL is a good fit.
Its too complicated too many pockets.... its sorta flimsy and light but you still feel the heat of the sun being absorbed into the black cloth. I may use it in the Fall its certainly too hot over room temperature conditions. The fit is accurate I am 6'3" 230 and the 2XL is a good fit.

Nice Vest - Large Sizing
The vest is lightweight and has tons of rooms for "stuff". The sizing is very large though. I think it may be mens sizing but that is not indicated in the description. I ordered an XS and had to return it as it was much too big. I wear a womens small normally.
