This is a round mouse mat, very different to most which are oblong. The shape works because of the size of the mat. It could sit on your lap but is probably most useful on a bed or soft surface as this is rigid.The mat is reversable with the dark side slightly ridged and a rubber type feel, but I use the aluminium or polished metal side as it reflects my laser mouse better.Gamers may like this as it does seem to improve mouse detection. There may be an issue with sweating on a hot day and your hand placed on a solid surface rather than an absorbant substance more traditional mouse mats are made of, but I didn't find that a problem.The styling is nice and seems to be "Apple" orientated with it's metallic look. At under a tenner and free next day delivery with Amazon Prime it's worth buying.

Nice really and simple mouse mat, the silver matches the Apple laptop perfectly and has a subtle bevelled edge.
