Let's start with the packaging. It comes sealed in plastic and securely stored in a small cardboard box (stamped and cut from one sheet of cardboard)! It comes with its own batteries (2 AAA). It comes with its own carrying case, as well as with an attached lanyard. It is small: 3.5" x 1.5" x 7/8".The functions are numerous: It will measure from the back or the front of the unit. It measures in meters, inches, or feet. It will measure a single measurement, a continuous measurement, an area, a volume, a pythagorean distance, and single or double pitch distances. It has a built-in angle measurement. And you can add or subtract measurements right in the unit. It will also store up to 20 measurements so you can look back without having to remeasure.I have compared the accuracy of this tool with another very expensive one I bought several years ago. It matches the accuracy on the same measurements for the short range of the expensive unit. Oh, did I mention that this tool will accurately measure any distance up to 60 meters (196.85 feet)?!!?I have not owned it long enough to assess its reliability. But I can say that this little tool with be with my toolbox for as long as it stays reliable, which I think will be for a long time! This is a great tool for a very affordable price.Negatives: I wish it would default to feet instead of meters. But that is not really a big deal. That's all!

Pretty accurate. For smaller measurements, you might just be better off having a normal tape measure. But when talking about a full rooms distance, it works great

Just received the WETOLS Laser Distance Meter today, and quite honestly, had my doubts as to how accurate it could possible be compared to my trusty ol' tape measure..and somewhat how easy it would be to use.Well after a few measurements laying it either on top of or right next to my tape measure, I was utterly amazed at how the spot on the WETOLS Laser Distance Meter was to the Stanley 16' tape I've used for years, and in some tests..was actually more accurate than the tape (had one measurement that on the tape fell between between 84-7/8ths (84.875), and 84-15/16th (84.9375), and the WETOLS measured it at 84.921)!The small size, included belt attachable case, reflector card (to measure an open ended wall), hand strap, and included batteries for the $20 price make it a great buy. Only wish there were I little bit more detailed instructions on how to use so many of the available function. But other than that a great replacement for the old tape measure, especially when in some cases you need another person to measure at middle wall height much past the 7-8' the standard tape allow before starting to sag or fall completely. With the WETOLS Laser Distance Meter tool, measuring across the house (not just a single room) by yourself is no problem at all. Great tool!!

Let me just say up-front: this is not a contractor's measurement tool. I don't know if it's the laser mechanism, my unsteady hand, or other user error, but it's not going to give you precise measurements. I can get it to drift an eighth of an inch easily. But, for general around-the-house uses it's fantastic. Will that cabinet fit over there? Sure. You don't need to measure down to the last thirty-second for that. The laser is easy to use, and though you do need to set the units each time you power-on, it only takes three seconds to do. For the price, I have no complaints. Beats the expensive Bosch units hands-down for homeowner use. No more floppy tape measures for me.

Cannot use outside in the light. Laser is too dim and you must have a reflector to make it work. Hard to steady the laser for a measurement if you can even find your target with the laser. Not recommended. Pay for a quality one.

This is a decent measure tool, but I hate that it defaults to metrics every time you turn it on. You have to spend about 15 seconds going thru the menu to change it to feet. This is a pain if your are doing a lot of measuring, since it shuts itself off after a minute and when you measure the next room you have to change the units again. This tool is being sold in the USA and the default measurement should be feet not centimeters!

I purchased this with hopes of using it as a digital level as well. It does not, however, provide detailed enough readings to use in this manner. I tested the laser distance measurements and found them to be accurate. I keep using my regular tape measure instead, though, because it’s quicker and easier to use. Also, you have to change it from metric to imperial every time you use it. It is handy for longer measurements and for measuring areas that are difficult to access.

I have been waiting to purchase a laser measure for some time now. After looking at a bunch of them, I decided to purchase this one and have used it a few times and I am definitely happy!! It is compact and very accurate. It makes taking measurements a lot easier, especially when you have to take a long distance by yourself. There are also multiple functions like it storing the previous measurements that is very helpful. Great product and worth the price!
