Excellent tree stand, even for a big chubber like me...
I had given up on the notion of ever using another climbing stand, given that I have two bad knees, one of which will trick out of socket at the mere gust of heavy wind. This climbing stand made climbing a reality once again. I am most excited that, although I am overweight and disabled, I am still able to make it up a tree, albeit a bit slowly, but affectively nevertheless. It is a little hard to get back down, especially with my bad knee, but you normally don't expect to be as quiet coming down as you were going up anyway, right? This stand is nice and spacey. I weigh about 275 lbs, and at 5'11'' that is allot of weight to carry up a tree. This stand makes going up almost effortless. I love having the ability to sit facing the tree or away from the tree. This is a Cadillac of a stand. No complaints. I expected a big bulky stand, but my deer cart will help me get it into the woods and back out. It carries as a back pack nicely also, which is how I usually have carried it, so far. I've climbed higher in this stand than any other stand I've ever used. I am not a great hunter, but I have hunted for several years, off and on. This stand is great for a big guy who hates to lose the freedom to get an edge on the big game. Excellent tree stand. No complaints from me!

Great treestand for big guys
Fairly light, and easy to use. Very comfortable to sit in (4-5 hrs at a time). I used the included safety harness - you feel very secure sitting and standing, but I suppose there is always the possibility the chair or platform could slip. The two pieces fit together nicely and the back pack straps make it easy to carry to and from you hunting spot. The only thing I'm not too crazy about is the plastic stirrups for raising/lowering the platform. A couple guys on my hunt had some older climbers which also had plastic stirrups, so must not be an issue.

Summit's Best Tree Stand the 180 Max SD
Summit's Best Tree Stand the 180 Max SD is a climbing tree stand and what makes it so great is that the seat mounts forward or facing the tree. When facing the tree the tree stand is much easier and much faster to climb up and down. It is well padded and after sitting all day 20 feet above the ground there is no soreness in the legs or back. It is so easy that if you don't like the tree you chose simply climb down within seconds, find another tree and climb up in minutes. The cable locks assure you won't disengage from the tree and break your neck and there are plenty of storage pockets for rope, ammo, or your sandwich and water bottle. The wider than standard size still weighs in at only 26 pounds and the straps make it easy to carry in and out with little effort. When I get too old to hunt from a tree stand I am positive that my son will enjoy the Summit 180 Max SD Climbing Tree stand for years and years. It holds tight to the tree and has a 350 pound load capacity. It is also whisper quiet that the deer will never hear you getting into or out of your stand. I highly recommend this product. It may cost more than your standard climbing tree stands but product quality and my safety are more important than saving a few bucks.

The best tree stand available on the market
The best tree stand available on the market. I have many other very highly rated stands and this is the one I use 90 percent of the time. Love my summit 180.

The best treestand EVER !!!
I love the Summit 180 MAX Treestand because I am 6'2" 300 pounds and I'm not in very good physical shape . But it is easy to climb up and down the tree . And when I'm up the tree , in the treestand , and wearing the safety harness that is included , I could not feel any more stable , safe and secure . This treestand is rock solid . It is also easy to put on and take off of the tree . And at the end of the day it is easy to pack it out of the mountain using the included back pack straps . This treestand is so comfortable that the only down side it has , is trying to stay awake while using it .

great but doesnt pack well at all
the stand is nice ont he tree but a pain to pack. it doesnt fit together snugly so it rattles and flops around. also hard to get it ride high enough on your back to not get tied up in your feet while hiking through ditches and steep hills. im sure i'll get it soted out but seems like the engineers could have put a little more thoguht into it and sorted this stuff out

Excellent stand
This stand is comfortable and easy to use. I wasn't going to pay this much for a climber when I first started but after reading all the reviews for weeks I decided to get this one. Excellent choice.
