Fits on 2022 Vulcan 650s
Fits well on my Vulcan 650s but due to the lack of instructions at times I thought it wouldn’t fit. Now I know you have to remove the outside trim and also you’ll find a factory back bar with rubber garments behind that will need to be removed. At first I tried to install with this part still on and was obviously not right. Also the shorter of the larger bolts go here and the longer larger bolts go through the back rest.

Some modifications needed
The quality the metal was solid. It didnt quite fit as I would have expected. I needed some rubber grommets between the rack and the bike, I also got two longer bolts to make up the space difference. Once it was on, it was great and looks good to. Strong. The only thing I didn't like was the seat cushion. It was only held on by two screws driven through wood inside cushion. I see this coming off in the near future. One wrong leg over the bike and its off.

Passenger is very comfortable.
My fiancé loves how relaxed she is now with the backrest. Easy to install. The back rack def comes in handy as well to unload the backpack.

WTF this pissed me off so much!!
First I'd like to than the other reviewers for their help. No instructions came with this. If it wasn't for the pics in the ad it would have never happened. The finished product is awesome that is the only reason for not leaving just 1 star. Some of the bolts are the lowest quality ever, easily rounded, lucky I read a review where a guy reused his original bolts.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NEARLY USELESS! Read this first!
This product is a high-value product of good quality. It is also the ONLY backrest I have found that you can install with the Kawasaki Factory Saddle Bags on the Vulcan S. If you have the factory saddle bags, this product is a great option.HOWEVER -- The directions are useless. They only provide a single, exploded-view assembly, and does not show you which bolts go where (they are different lengths.) Hence the reviewer who installed the longer bolt in a shorter-bolt location, and when a passenger sat on his bike (compressing the suspension) the bolt ripped into the rear tire!Further, the exploded view holes are in different locations than what is on the actual parts. So you have to figure out how each of the holes align. ANSWER: The luggage rack fits "inside" the backrest, and they both fit inside the main brackets, both aligned through the bottom two holes of the main brackets (see picture.)To attach the main brackets to the bike, remove the saddle bags, then remove the saddle bag hangers (with the two large bolts) then remove the plastic trim (remove the two screws holding it, and push towards the front of the bike and it slides off.) Then you have to remove the metal bracket that is already there, replacing it with the backrest brackets. The backrest bracket as the same hole pattern as the piece you are removing. You have to reinstall the plastic piece and put the two screws back in (don't tighten it) then wiggle it around to reinstall the saddle bag brackets through the big holes.I installed the brackets first, very loosely, then added the backrest and rack, made sure it was straight / aligned on the bike and tightened it down, then I went back to the side bracket and tightened everything down.Hope this helps!

The box was damaged when I first received it. I opened it and everything was wrapped fine and didn't see any damage. I didn't get any instructions either so I had to go off pictures in reviews but none of the pictures show how the bolts line up or anything.Easy enough to assemble though. But getting it on the bike is another story. I could get it to line up just fine on both sides of the bike. But when one side was lined up, the other side wouldn't line up. Ended up just having to use brute force to bend the metal and get it to work. Took two hours from beginning to end. I would take it off and return it but considering I stripped a bolt putting it on. I won't be able to get it off. But it's on tight so I'm not too worried about it's functionality, just disappointed in lack of directions and how it wasnt probably aligned.

Yamaha Bolt/ Backrest
(Assembly required) and some thread locker wouldn’t hurt. The finish wasn’t excellent but overall decent quality for price. YouTube tutorials will help you with the install. Instructions not included. 30-to 45 min job tops ,with the right equipment.

No instructions
Pros: looks good, decent quality, best price compared to others.Cons: It is a confusing process to figure out which bolts go where. Common sense will lead you to the correct orientation of how to put it together. It would be nice if there were instructions for at least the bolt locations but there were no instructions whatsoever. Go with another brand if you desperately need instructions. All that aside if you can put it together and don't mind spending a little time you'll enjoy this.
