This is a pretty easy swap, but you first need to get the old one out
If you're like me, you didn't even realize that your machine _needed_ this gasket until many years after you purchased it. The original, probably regular rubber, may be hard as a rock and lodged into your machine in such a way that it is tough to see that it is even there (i.e., it may look like it is a fixed part of the machine...).For my machine (La Spaziale Vivaldi II), I needed to first remove a metal filter (needed a Philips screwdriver), then I was able to pry out the original gasket with a flat-head screwdriver. It was a bit tough-going, but it eventually came out. I've heard of others who said theirs broke and came out in pieces. This replacement, made of silicone, should last a long time, and fit the machine perfectly.

Does Not Fit
This is a fraction of a millimeter smaller in diameter than the original gaskets in my Vivaldi II. It just falls out no matter how many times I try to put it in place (hoping that it will have miraculously grown by a few microns). Seems like a high quality product otherwise.

Seems Good
This seems ok, certainly working fine at the moment, and will be pleased if it lasts longer than the rubber gasket that has to be changed every 6 months, which is a pain in the a**. It seems a bit more snug against the portafilter than the stock rubber gasket (probably because it doesn't compress as much) which changes the feel of locking it in every so slightly, but doesn't effect the functionality in a negative way.
