Definitely worth it

Description is incorrect
This unit has only one hose! It's pulling air from inside the room, causing negative pressure. That"s the whole purpose of a dual hose unit.

Good unit..especially for the price.
I have only had this a few days but will try and give an in depth review. The item comes well packed. You can open the top and then lift the entire box over the unit and parts. I discovered that the important thing is to connect the hoses to the part that fits in your window first. Use screws and attach firmly. This will prevent hoses from coming undone. I have horizontal sliding windows but height of window was greater than length of the pieces that fir in there so had to make an extension, but it is easy. Attach the bottom hose from the window to the intake side of the AC and the discharge should go to upper hole. Heat rises. This is my first portable ac, and if you need a portable, this isn't too bad and has dual hoses, so that is a plus. The unit is fairly noisy, but aren't they all. The fan..even on low, blows pretty hard, but cooling is good. Cooling won't be the same for each user, as more than likely room to be cooled might/might not be insulated, and therefore allows more heat to come in regardless. The ac unit does put out plenty of cool air. How your room absorbs it will depend on your room. Overall, at the price I paid, this is a good unit with dual hoses which is a plus. I wrapped the discharge hose loosely with tin foil and this prevents much heat from leaking from the hose walls into the room you are trying to cool. I do not think any of these portable units work quite as good as a window unit and these portable units are certainly take more space up in your room. Happy cooling. I will come back if there are issues, but so far, this unit works quite well.

... for about a week now and I am very happy with it
I have had this AC for about a week now and I am very happy with it. I have about 600 sqft between my living room and dining room/kitchen to cool down and so far it has kept the temp at 72 with no problem. I did a fair amount of research and this was the best priced and best reviewed unit I could find. The connection of the hoses to the plastic window panel was a little tricky but it was do-able with an electric drill. Also the panel isn't quite long enough to fit my window, but my windows are pretty tall and horizontal. It can be modified pretty easily I would imagine.
