cowin HE8 Bluetooth Headphones, Active Noise Cancelling Earbuds Wireless Headphones with Microphone Ear Buds - Black

I bought these to use on the airplane as regular ear bugs/ear phones still allowed quite a bit of noise in. I tried them on a 5 hour flight paired with my iPhone. I kept them in for almost the entire flight. They are very comfortable. The wires are short enough that they didn't really bother me while using a laptop but I tried both in front and slung behind my head and there is no issue. They did a pretty good job of reducing (not eliminating) noise. I could still hear some of the standard in-flight "white noise" but it was not disruptive. More importantly, I didn't have to have my music at "10" to hear it. Depth was adequate (good bass); highs were nice. I played around with different EQ settings on my iPhone and settled on "None"... just raw music (normally, I had it on Bass Boost).The charge lasted the entire flight which surprised me. It has a little charge brick which is the same size as the battery compartment and has a USB plug. It's not a standard mini-USB or micro-USB connector, so you can't use a longer USB cable but the length of charging cable is adequate.The charge cable and extra buds found in a compartment in the travel case for the ear phones which is nice and compact and I appreciate them being together instead of getting tangled in my laptop bag.You may need to play around with the positioning in your ear but once it's in the right spot... great sound. A friend with the Bose noise-cancelling ear buds was surprised at how good these are. I've only used them for a few days but so far I am very happy with them. For the price, this was worth it.

Pretty good for the price. Did not expect them to noise cancel like $200 Bose over ears, but for $80 buds I am pretty happy. Has taken some time to figure out he buttons as the documentation is pretty thin, but it's all good. The only thing really missing is some way to know how much battery you have left, but the whole unit is so small I'm just super-impressed that there is even a battery in there.Keep an eye out for the next gen.

I have two specific comments: (1) The manual is not well written e.g. the next song and the previous song functions are wrongly written/described in both English and Chinese. Headphones frequency response and battery capacity are not specified in the manual. (2) The bass guitar sounds distorted (shows cracking sound) e.g. in the initial part of the song "Living Doll" by Cliff Richard when played in the lowest sound volume. The same soundtrack played on my other headphones does not show the cracking sound.I am not sure this cracking sound is common to all the COWIN HE8 Headphones or it is a defect of the unit I bought. Can the manufacturer please respond to my comments? Thank you.

poor battery life (3 hrs). poor bluetooth range, it breaks up with my phone in the back pants pocket. Works fine in my front shirt pocket.[UPDATE] I was contacted via email for this order's details by CONWIN. I supplied the details, no word from them for over 2 months

I purchased these headphones last week specifically to use on planes, so I could listen to movies without having to lug around bulky, over-the-ear headphones. I was terribly disappointed. As far as I can tell, the noise cancellation feature is useless. Compared to my old $20 earbuds without noise cancellation, I had to crank the volume on these headphones almost 4 steps higher to hear the dialog in an action movie. They simply could not filter out the plane noise, much less any of the conversations around me. A typical over the ear pair of non-noise cancelling headphones is much better than these. Further, the poor battery life mentioned in other reviews is true. They barely made it through a 3 hour flight. Either save your money and purchase some nice noise isolation earphones or spend the extra for a better brand. These do not work as advertised.

Great noise cancellation, great sound, decent bass thickness. A very good product

Very uncomfortable, ear design placement need more work.

Look like nice wireless ear buds, but after trying to charge them for 8 hours they don't work. Either the battery has an issue or they won't charge. The ear buds will only work when plugged into USB making them useless. Returning them.
