Double Bond Thick (2.6 Mil) Commercial Grade Packing Tape, 1.88"x 54.6 Yds (48mm x 50m), 6 Rolls, Clear (1726-6)

After reading reviews this tape sounded like it worked great and did the job however after using it on several boxes the tape does no adhere to the box. I just packed and tapes this box last night and already this morning the tape has come undone. Don't waste your money on this tape. It doesn't do the job!

Adhesive works well, and certainly stays put. The catch: when unrolling the tape, the adhesive has a really funky, sickly sweet smell, which really bothers me. It also doesn't stay super clear while dispensing it off the role -- each stopping point leaves a white line or foggy area where it unravels. While these considerations might not bother everyone, next time I'll probably pay a bit more and stick to the name brand version (pun intended -- ouch)...

It smells bad. That could be tolerated if the tape would stick. It does not. Boxes taped with this product came apart when being moved to storage. It is useless for the purpose intended. Even double or triple applications of the tape still did not have enough adhesion to hold the boxes together. It is a worthless product.

This product is of very high quality. I was impressed by the amount that you get for a very reasonable price. Not only is it affordably priced, but it actually works well and does not have that funny smell that I have noticed on a lot of other brands. And perhaps my favorite 2 things are: (1) It is a nice thickness, so it isn't tearing or sticking to itself on the role, so that you cannot use it after the first pull. (2) I can always find the end of it , where I cut it off last time, it doesn't disappear. I would buy this product again from this seller.

In preparation for a move, we had a few rolls of other packing tape around and got started with that.. Didn't last long. And didn't stick. I'm talking about brand name tape - Scotch, Staples, you name it. Packing tape. It would peel. It was too thin. It needed constant re-taping. And I had to go back over it with Double Bond just to get the boxes to seal. Ridiculous. When we bought this there was a pronounced difference!! It's thick, sticky, very effective, no odor, and is everything you need in a packing tape. If this is what commercial grade is, we all need commercial grade. Don't settle for anything less. And we even paid $6.00 for a single roll of Scotch packing tape at Walmart. I threw it away after using this! We ended up with 12 rolls of Double Bond tape. It's perfect. Don't compromise.

I never realized there was so much difference in packing tape until this ran out in the middle of us packing to move and I ran to a local hardware store and bought a 6 pack of tape and it was a piece of crap. I now will be more careful about the thickness of what I buy. This is good quality packing tape that you can actually tear using a "packing tape gun" (if that's what they are called) and not have the tape just make a big disaster. I've bought this before and will continue to buy it again.

Good tape for a fair price. You can get cheaper tape, but cheaper tape is cheaper quality. Everyone wants cheap, but then they complain it's cheap tape. Then don't order cheap tape, buy tape like this. Everyone wants a Porsche for a Geo Metro price, doesn't work that way.

I know this is the cheaper tape so I wasn't expecting the best quality. It works fine, but it has a weird smell.
