Very easy to understand.
This book has got a host of different low calorie meal & snack suggestions to lose weight.Loved the fact that ALL recipes for one person so very very easy to work out how much need for larger groups. No dividing of Serves 4 etc portions.Very well thought out recipes and snacks.

Excellent book - Buy it…
If you need to loose weight, or are trying to get off Metformin, as I am, and put my diabetes into reverse, then this is the book for you… I already had the other Carbs and Cals books, which are absolutely brilliant, but in trying to control my carb intake to keep my blood/glucose levels under control, I was not losing much weight, and in fact my weight was going up and down…a lot of nice food with low carbs having a lot of calories…!!! So, to get things under control I got this book… and I can honestly say it’s working a treat… I am now at the end of week two (week three starts on Monday 9th August 2021), and I have done the following already… 1) Lost over a stone in weight, and 2) got my blood glucose into the ‘normal’ zone - between 4.0 and 7.0 already…which I am over the moon about… Due to some physical problems at age 65, and a heart condition, I have not been able to exercise as much as I would like to, or should… so this makes this achievement using this book even more remarkable… I recommend this book to anyone wanting to take control of their life back from being overweight and diabetic… don’t sit there thinking about it…DO IT…👍🏻

A well thought out diet/recipe/calorie book
I bought this book to help me with my 800 calorie Dr Michael Mosley's 8 week blood sugar diet to try and reverse my recently diagnosed diabetes.1. Inside the front cover there is information about the website that goes along with this book where you can get additional information and a mobile app to aid your diet. I haven't visited it yet though.2. There is a section explaining low calorie diets and how they work - referencing Dr Mosley's diet.3. It has a 30 day meal plan for an 800 calorie diet, with page numbers of the relevant recipes.4. The actual recipes are different, tasty and filling. Each recipe has the amount of fibre, saturated fat, fat, protein and carbohydrates along with how many of your five a day and calories.5. At the back of the book is a section of calories in hundreds of foods, in different portions, including photo's of each. eg Almond butter has two entries - calories per 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon.I am glad that I bought this book - it is well thought out and is helping to add variety into my low calorie diet. Which is going very well I must add.

Excellent book, not only does it give calories carbs, fibre etc. it gives meal plans and recipes. Also talks about different types of diet plans. Very pleased with this well written and thought out book.

Unsure of quantities ???
One of the slow cooker recipes states 75g of skinned, boned chicken thigh. The thighs I had were small and just one weighed 113g ! That means I couldn't even have a whole very small chicken breast in my meal ??? Surely this can't be right and it has made me question if the weight of every ingredient in this book is correct ???

Full of tasty recipies
so easy to follow, all very clear on the calories & carb count, good pictures to go with each recipe (an absolute must in any cook book for me).using it for my '2' days o my 5-2 diet and it is making light work of the weight loss leaving me even feeling full on those '2' days

Useful Dieting Tool
Love the full colour pages with photos of real food.Meal plans are useful, the book is easy to navigate & the fact that the recipes are single portion is a great idea.The book is aimed at those wishing to follow a very low calorie plan, but is much more flexible & the recipes would fit into any calorie controlled plan.Overall a great addition to my diet book collection.

Recetas buenas, sanas y baratas
Es un buen libro para dar ideas de platos sueltos de desayuno, almuerzo, comida y cena. Todos con ingredientes sanos y muy poco calóricos (hasta explica las calorías de cada uno, y de dónde vienen: proteínas, grasas, etc). Además, son recetas rápidas. La única pega que le veo es que a veces las raciones se quedan un poco escasas, y toca añadir algo extra o simplemente hacer más cantidad de comida.Al final vienen referencias de porciones de distintos alimentos y sus calorías.Como es obvio, hay que saber inglés, ya que está en inglés.

Thanks for this collection! I've been following the 5:2 fastdiet for over a year, now. This collection is great both for recipes and as an idea-giver. I also appreciate the notes on current research in England and look forward to hearing about the results!
