I have purchased virtually identical brass caps, from other suppliers, at a much higher cost. None of them are superior to the ones supplied by COOLOOdirect. Five of them for less than $10 is hard to beat! I refill my 1 pound propane tanks and these brass caps insure the threads are protected until I need them. It costs me roughly $12.25, at current prices, to refill a 20 pound propane tank. So, I can refill my 1 pound tanks for less than 65 cents each. Now, my empty 1 pound tanks are a resource, not a waste product. Currently, new 1 pound propane tanks cost around $3.50 each, depending on where you buy them. That price isn’t so hard to swallow, since I can refill them, over and over again. But, it is important to protect the threads of the tanks. And, these brass caps do the job very well.

Since I refill the small 1 pound canisters a few times before finally recycling them, I really do want caps that A) protect the valve mechanisms from getting dirty and B) prevent any leaks from possibly faulty valves. These caps do both tasks perfectly. The threads are cut well and screw on easily. My only suggestion would to not cut a hole in the black gasket material - allow the gasket to be complete. This would eliminate one more potential leak source in the design. If I end up with more bottles, I would definitely buy another pack of these but we'll see if I come across any more canisters.
