This is a lovely album. The presentation is very impressive. The problem is that because the folding flap is designed shorter than the rings, it means that you cannot fill the binder fully, only as full as the flap can close over the pages. This could be solved by the manufacturer simply scoring the folding flap one or two more times so that it bends, but we could not find a solution on the consumer end. The book will hold all 30 pages (60 sides total) ONLY if you don't add any photos, for example if it was used a guest book or journal. But if you add photos or other material to the pages it holds only 15-20 sheets. I ended up purchasing a second album, and used the sheets from the first album to fill both. For gosh sakes don't purchase the extra sheets Amazon will try to sell you with this album- they will not fit. The first photo is of the album with photos, the second photo is of the album as it comes out of the box.

(Note: I got the large)I'm very bad with visualizing things, especially measurements, so I had worries that this would be small, like a pocket agenda that you can tuck in a bag. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it's a bit larger than that, bigger than most trade books (retail fiction books). I bought it as a gift; I plan to scrapbook with it for a friend's birthday. I would definitely say it's very good quality, and I don't have any doubts about the quality as something that I'm giving as a gift.One note, the pages are very stiff. This isn't a problem if you plan on adding in some of your own cardstock pages (as I do) or using it like a scrapbook. However, if you are looking for more of a journal where you can "flip" through the pages, I would recommend placing in your own pages instead. It's a regular three ring, so you won't have any trouble finding any I'm sure.

The album itself is nice. I ordered two albums, one red one and one green one. I made identical photo albums for my grandson and myself. The album itself is well constructed of nice leather. The leather cording that goes around the album is OK. It's mainly, I think, for looks although it does help keep the album closed. The pages are made of a nice quality paper too. They are black, so I bought a silver-ink pen to write the captions for the pictures. My only complaint is that the sticky corners supplied with the album are flimsy. The adhesive isn't very strong either. I could have bought higher quality sticky corners but instead I used glue stick in the center back of each picture to better secure it to the page.

This is such a beautiful scrap book and I love it so much better than those big square-ish plastic ones! It makes for a great coffee table topper. The way the leather strap with the helm charm wraps around the book to secure it closed is really cool. The leather seems to be bonded leather, which is my reason for deducting one star, but it's still gorgeous. The stamp-like stickers that come with the scrap book are neat and I like all the different designs. I also like the convenience of the 3 rings inside that can be opened to add or remove pages. The entire scrap book, inside and out, is made really well and is really attractive!

*Mine arrived broken, so I returned*I bought this because I thought it was unique and looked like the perfect present for a family member. After it arrived, it only took me 2 minutes to decide to return it. Here is why:-It was shipped in a bubble polymailer and had a broken part. In addition, the book and pages were bent in a slight moon crescent shape. If it was mailed in a box, it probably wouldn’t have been damaged.-The anchor was shattered on mine. This lead me to believe that both charms attached are not very sturdily made.-The cover has a pretty fake feel to it (I know it isn’t real leather, but I was hoping for something softer than whatever cheap vinyl is used).It’s a cute idea and would have made the perfect gift if it was a bit more durable and a little less “cheap” looking.

This is a great little album for the price! As a Christmas present, I scanned my mother’s old photos and had them printed as 4x6 prints. When I bought this I didn’t realize it was a scrap book and not a photo album, but I had a roll of photo dots laying around and they worked perfectly! Note that the photo corners that come with this are pretty bizarre colors, so you will not want to use them in this beautiful album. While this is not real leather it makes a wonderful presentation. While I’ve spent much more on presents, I don’t think I’ve ever given anyone such a great gift! You will not be disappointed in this!

This is an incredible looking album! It was given as a gift to our son and his wife. They love it too! It comes with self stick corners to slip your photos into. Two or three average sized photos fit on each page nicely. The leather is soft enough to be pliable and strong enough to keep the photos safe from bending if someone tried to bend the actual album. The compass design is gorgeous and the leather ties with the little metal compass attached gives it a nice added touch. Our kids love it! It's their first family album.

Our daughter used this binder to create a school project that appeared to be from the Ancient Greek era. The book is well put together, there were plenty of pages, and the binding seemed quality. The only thing that was not of great quality as the page minder medallion thing... just seemed slightly cheap.
