I have to give it five stars, it's working well for me.
Wow, this brush is pretty amazing. I admit, I don't have much experience with dog brush's. I have used one of those slicker brushes before, and worried about scratching my dog, and I don't really care for those.I usually use a boar bristle/combo brush that you would use for a human. I myself use the same style brush. One of my dogs is a Mexican hairless, another, American Idian Dog, and she does have an undercoat, but not very long hair. But, it's like she has two coats. The other, is a Lousiana Catahoula Shepard Dog/Kelpie Mix, who has pretty short hair, but also has an undercoat. The A.I.D hates the heat, and we live in Phoenix, and she really sheds quite a bit 1 or 2 x a year, other than ongoing shedding, so I started brushing her with this, and I need something safe and gentle. She's 14, has allergies and sensitive skin. What made me buy this brush is my new rescue dog, (yes, that makes four,) because she has long hair. She looks like a Caucasion/Russian Shepard, or a giant Keshoon mix. 80lbs. A ton of all types of hair, very unusual looking. She has very soft, fine hair, too, a tiny bit curly on her belly, started getting matted right away.I can't believe all the hair that came off of her, and she loved being brushed. None of the dogs have objected to it, so it must feel okay. Have to give it five stars; it's doing a good job with that long haired one. She was a rescue, and I heard it took them four or more hours to brush through and cut matts off her, etc., so I want to stay on top of that. So far so good.I was concerned, cause it seemed like it "cut," the hair, I have no idea how it works, physically, or if it does or not, but she looked all fluffy and perfectly fine, so I feel I hit on a winning product here.Other pros: light weight, easy to grip, small for storage, attractive coloring. Seems well made. Priced competitively, not too high.

MIRACLE tool for shelties!
This brush is AMAZING! I wish I had one years ago!My family has owned shelties for as long as I've been alive and, while the breed has many wonderful qualities, they shed. A LOT. Tufts of beige underfur everywhere, all the time. Vacuum, and a day later there's more. A slicker brush keeps them from looking unkempt but hardly makes a dent in the amount of loose fur that seems to magically appear wherever they spend time. What a HUGE difference this made! How much exactly? Honestly, I was curious about this too (and maybe a bit skeptical of all the positive reviews.)I waited to use the brush until after I'd vacuumed, and this time I paid attention to how much fur was turning up in the canister. (So very much.) Then I sat the dog down and started combing her out. I could NOT believe the amount of underfur that came out. It was enough to fill a small gallon-sized trashcan! It even took care of the incredibly dense fur along her flanks which is normally a total pain to get through. I won't say she loved it because she's not a big fan of being brushed in general, but she certainly seemed to appreciate the fact that it took a fraction of the normal time!Right away I noticed those mysteriously appearing tufts of fur just... weren't. The carpet looked freshly vacuumed even days later. To give it a fair test, I waited the normal interval of time before vacuuming again. There was easily something like TWO THIRDS LESS fur.A side note: grooming double-coated dogs can be tricky, but unlike the Furminator, this won't ruin the outer coat. Your sheltie will look every bit as cute as before (if perhaps a little skinnier). In conclusion, if you have a sheltie, you NEED this brush. It's worth every penny.

Does A Great Job; Dog Loves It
You could spend a fortune on dog grooming tools if you wanted. Some scissors are $150 a pair. And some dematting ârakesâ are even more expensive. I wanted to try do-it-yourself-grooming and didnât want to invest a lot - just in case I wasnât good at it and just in case my Miniature Australian Shepherd wanted no part of this. So I went shopping at amazon.com, read about the available products, read the reviews and chose the Rubold Dog Dematting Tool. It was $40 but I got it on sale for just $19. And this was a good choice. It does a wonderful job. With just a few gentle strokes I got enough hair to start another dog. And my 22-pound Orielle had been professionally dematted just six weeks ago. This tool is ever so easy to use and Ori seems to love having her coat dematted. She sat still until I was done. It must be very gentle as well because Ori still has some residual nerve damage on her back after being viciously attacked by an Akita last year and in the past when I have used a comb on her she would jump and cry out in pain when I came anywhere near those tender spots. Not with this thing. I was able to dematt her entire coat and not once did she object.I like the ergonomic handle which fits nicely in my hand and is easy to use even though I have carpal tunnel syndrome. It comes with an unconditional lifetime satisfaction guarantee - they promise either a replacement or a refund.
