Drax has always interested me as a character but never got the love he deserved. This is a fun read with a drax that is awesome and like the movie very literal. But he plays detective and goes searching and finds enemies to destroy. Fun read

Whenever you think the Marvel Universe will freeze in dull boredom a writer comes along, takes a second or third grade character and turns them into a gem. To mind come David’s Genis and Madrox, Slott’s She-Hulk and Hopeless’ Spider-Woman.Here it’s two writers: CM Punk, ex-wrestler and comics newcomer, and old battle horse Cullen Bunn, joined by penciler Scott Hepburn, whose half cartoony half gritty style just matches this book’s tone, inker Scott Hanna, and colorist Matt Milla.Drax the Destroyer, tragic galactic figure obsessed by killing his nemesis Thanos as a space detective? This sounds odd, but the components all fit together perfectly here. You have the good-bad girl, bartender Ora, the drinking buddy, who is a former villain, the ghost town and a lot of old acquaintances from Marvel continuity. I will not spoil all of them here. This is a rare mixture of odd humor (“I have the Power Cosmic, why do I have to take a piss?”) and a thrilling adventure story with brilliant dialogues.This book collects #1-5 of the All-New Marvel Drax series. I will be there for volume 2. So, now Marvel, please don’t cancel this book. Recommended a lot!!!
