Great Dock for "big" Phones, Flimsy Connectino
Updated Review Nov 2013:Was unsure initially if this would work, fit, etc but what got me to buy this model over others was that it has an open bottom rather than a molded bottom that many phones in thicker cases may not fit. However I recently downgraded to three stars because it is really difficult to fit the phone onto the slender connection pin.The RND Dock comes with a plastic attachment providing more support if you are not using a thicker case, which pops off easily using the thumb notch at the top. The plastic tabs holding it in place are pretty small, so I don't know how well it will wear if taking the attachment on and off, but even if a tab breaks, the attachment would probably stay in place. The power cord uses the now ubiquitous plug + USB-to-micro connection with maybe a 6' cord allowing you to hook it up and place on a nightstand.Pros: Galaxy Note 3 recognizes the device as a dock and provides a clock+weather screen which is pretty cool (may depend on Galaxy Note settings to work?); the device has a nice shiny finish and smartly contoured design; allows support with no case and flexibility with a thick (using a iBlason case, slightly smaller than an Otterbox); USB-micro charging pin is on a fwd-and-back swivel, with about 40-degrees of "travel" back and forth so you can change the angle of the phone while still connected (pretty cool idea)Cons: as other reviews mention, it often takes 2 hands to line a Galaxy Note 3 up with the connection pin, and is really hard to line up in the dark; does NOT include a second area to charge an additional battery (which I would not use anyway), the USB-micro pin seems to be the primary support, which is small and flimsy (not due to manufacturing, due to current technology); there is no secondary USB-in charing port to allow the same dock to simultaneously charge a Galaxy GearI'm a little paranoid about breaking the micro connect off since I'm converting from an iPhone 4 with a much heartier connector. Now that I've used the dock for a few weeks, I'm going to look for a dock that uses the wider connector that the Note 3 has.

Good, not great, but keeping fingers crossed! Works for me... "Like it"
I have the Note 2 with the Otterbox Defender Series case and have used this dock for about a month. Works well for my need. I'm concerned with the connection over time though as it seems "flimsy" but so far so good... maybe flimsy is being confused with flexible as it does seem to be built to move-n-align to a very small connection which makes it even more difficult when you have a rugged case like the Otterbox. But, there simply are not many choices in docks out there for use with the Otterbox (Note 2 combo). I do wish the base had more weight too as every time I mount the Note to the dock, it typically takes two hands and allot of careful alignment. Based on the Amazon ratings, I have posted this as a "I like it" but it is basically between "ok" and the four stars. I hope this helps. It was the only one I could find that seemed to work the way I wanted it to work. Thanks for reading. If I can, over time, I may provide another update...

the phone is pretty much resting on the micro-USB connector
I had an RND dock (w/ side supports) for my Note 2, and I was hoping that it would work for the Note 4 (w/ slim case). No luck. RND does sell a dock for the Note 4, but the majority of the reviews note that it can't be used a slim case. My case is difficult to remove, so I'm avoiding that dock. This dock does not have side supports, so it should work for all but the largest cases. Unfortunately, that's it biggest weakness. With no bottom/side support, the phone is pretty much resting on the micro-USB connector. Only time will tell how long it holds up. In addition, the micro-USB connector flexes. I assume this allows it to be used with cases of varying sizes. However, in my case the phone does not easily slide on to the connector. I have to maneuver the phone for a while to get it on to the connector. At times I have to lift the base of the table to get it to slide on to the phone. 'Not ideal.

So-so dock. Works ok but difficult to insert phone.
Works ok with my Note 4 with a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case. However, the dock only supports the back of the phone, there is no support on the sides so it's a pain to line the phone up with the charging plug, especially since the charging plug pivots. The RND dock for my Galaxy S3 has a much better design. It supports the back AND sides of the phone, and inserting the phone (with case) into that dock was an easy, one-handed operation. My satisfaction with that dock is why I purchased a RND dock for my new Note 4, but the design of this dock is fair at best.On the positive side, it does trip off the dock mode on the Note 4, but unless I'm missing something, dock mode on the Note 4 is pretty lame. On the downside, the cable doesn't appear to support adaptive fast charging when used with the Samsung fast charger.Still looking for something better.

Nicely designed cradle with power plug
Fits Note 4 in OEM rubber case perfectly, even with the removable tray insert in place. Due to its design, it should work with future Note models or most other current phones. I even use it to charge my Blackberry Bold, which has its microUSB port on the left side. With my previous model-specific cradles, they became totally useless after I sold my old phone, so I usually gave it away or bundled it with my sold phone. The microUSB male plug is on a fore/aft hinge, so it's easy to remove the phone in a hurry, without worrying about bending or snapping off the plug.It comes with a square 2.1A wall wart plug (power plugs do not fold) and 2 USB cables (one for data, one for faster power-only).I wish it had a slot for extra battery charger, but otherwise it's perfect.

Dock For Phones In Thick Cases
This is a heck of a dock. It's the only dock that I'm familiar with that is deep enough and has a long enough MicroUSB plug for extra thick cases, and it works. The only complaint that I have is that you cannot lock the microUSB plug into place which would allow you to slide the phone on with minimal fuss and no futzing around. Because the plug is spring loaded (instead of using notches) you have to hunt for the MicroUSB port each time you put the phone of the stand. The spring loaded plug is why I'm deducting one star.

It works
Does the job as advertised. But you need two hands to lift the phone off of the dock. One to lift the phone off, and one to hold the dock down.
