Nice piece of Kit
I've been looking for a half decent RAID enclosure for some time and finally struck gold with the GR3680. I've fitted 2 x 6TB Toshiba MG drives in a RAID 1 config and works great, the LCD screen is a nice touch but as others have noted it's quite bright and really only visible face-on, the RAID GUI application works fine and shows all pertinent info but feels quite dated, I did have a strange issue with my Toshiba MG drives showing:Pri HDD: InsertPri HDD: InsertEven when the drives were present, they worked fine still but it kinda irked so I got onto Raidon support who created a custom firmware for me which resolved the problem with my drives not showing up correctly in the LCD.They did mention the USB3 version sold here is actually end of line as they now have a USB-C version.-John

Using this as an External Backup Unit
Purchased three of these to use as external backup units at three offices, where staff would replace the 2nd disk daily after the nighty backups have completed for off site-storage, in RAID 1 mode using WD Blue 4TB drives re-mirroring takes about 10 hours to complete. No need to power off the device, auto-rebuilding triggers as soon as the disk is replaced (hot-swap). The remaining disk can be accessed whilst the re-mirroring is taking place. To the lower right of the key-lock for each hard disk tray is a blue activity light. When a disk is removed you get an audible warning beep, this can be turned off using the mute button. Any disk which has been removed from the unit can also be accessed independently by connecting it to a PC. The disk write times in RAID 1 mode are comparable to that of a single disk. If you wish to exchange disks daily, you may want to purchase additional trays. The USB 3.0 cable is approximately 1 meter in length and the unit is powered by a standard 3 pin IEC lead.

Raidon GR3680 SB3EXT. RAID Enclosure
Have 2 8tb drives fitted in this. Works fine, I only use it for backups. Better to many backups then none.

Awesome
+ Good solid build quality.+ Fast eSATA and USB3 connectivity.+ Quiet operation with 2x 5400rpm HDDs installed.+ The rear fan can easily be removed for cleaning.- The only minor issue is the display is a very bright blue and there are no options to dim or turn it off.

Worth the money
Seems reliable and has a helpful display. I think it came with an EU plug which is annoying.
