Easy Learning Mandarin Chinese Characters (Collins Easy Learning Chinese) Paperback – 5 April 2012

I am a university student studying Chinese and this book is excellent for creating and maintaining a knowledge of the basic characters that people sometimes tend to forget. The descriptions of each character and its radicals are brilliant and help to aid in the memorisation of the characters and the practice grids which are supplied on each page with the stroke order displayed, are really good for memorising the characters. I would recommend this to anyone who has an interest in learning Chinese or is already learning Chinese as it can be used at all levels - at the beginning for a foundation or higher up as a reminder. Worth every penny!

It is a great help as an additional book for studies. It provides me with explanations that other books lacks of .It is definately a secondary book . It cannot be used as a primary source of learning .It helps the learner fill gaps that are created during for a self learning/studying student, usually explanations that a teacher may provide.

a bit bulky, but i love this book and now take it everywhere. there is plenty of space to practise each character, and i really like it how when they give you sample words containing the character, they are mostly low-level, so i am usually familiar with them and can practise them straight away. the explanations are also very good, and they often explain how the character came to be written that way, which is fascinating! overall, very happy.

Actually bought this book for characters transferred to wood for carving but would think it'd be more than useful for anyone wishing to have a greater understanding of the language.

Handy size for travel and every day use, always works and doesn't need a power charge!

A wonderful book. Great for anyone just starting out learning Chinese, and for those a little more advanced. very easy to understand as it takes you through step by step. I would recommend it to anyone learning the Chinese language.

Hard work ploughing through Chinese character formation and writing. But these text books provide an excellent guide to make the whole process interesting. And you can work at your own pace - mine very slow. An ideal purchase and with very fast delivery..

Very good condition. I loved practising the chineae characters in this book.
