CAVALIERE 30" Inch Under Cabinet Range Hood 900 CFM

So let me start out by saying I love this range hood for two reasons: the first is that it is the first range hood that can handle my wife's cooking! The second reason is I got it free from Amazon!! Long story short, they failed to deliver it when promised for whatever reason, refunded my money and told me I could keep it if was ever delivered. It finally came in a few days later after a seemingly endless journey. My advice to Amazon sellers: Don't use USPS for larger heavier items. Just don't.Back to the range hood. My wife cooks Indian food. If you know anything about this type of cooking, food and spices are fried in high heat, which generates lots of smell and smoke. The exhaust hood that came with the house when we bought it couldn't handle it, so earlier this year I went to Lowes and bought their most powerful unit (400 CFM). The Lowes employee told me if this couldn't handle her cooking, I would need to go industrial. Well it couldn't, the smell of her cooking would reach all areas of our house, and when she fried we would have to open all the windows to get the smoke out of the kitchen and living room. It was basically useless. So I began to do some research and found this CAVALIERE 30" which is 900 CFM and had very good reviews.Let me just cut to the chase. I had my handyman install it, he had to put in new ducting due to the old ducting having a smaller circumference. He is very professional at what he does and it took him about 2 hours. So far after about 4 days of using it, I am extremely happy. The dual fans are much quieter than my last exhaust range, and they can handle my wife's frying. There was no smell throughout the house, and it has an automatic function that will turn up or down the fans based on the heat emanating. Also the auto feature will turn off the exhaust at the pre-determined time you set it to after you are finished cooking. The dual LED lights are bright enough illuminate the stove. Lastly, the steel pleated filters are easy to remove and clean (the can be washed in the sink or put in the dishwasher).If this Range Hood can withstand my wife's cooking for the next 3 months, I would say this will be a win!

Had a bit of a weird metallic smell to it when we unboxed it and the first few weeks of us using it, but otherwise things have been awesome with it so far.

I heard piles of recommendations from friends around and saw tons of good reviews online about this professional vent. However, the one I received has many issues.First, the backlight of the clock turns on only when the fan is on, which made the clock useless on 99% of the time. This design is stupid. Second, at the first moment when I open the package, four screws and four nuts fall off from the vent. Later on, I figured out that they were used to fix the fan inside the hull of the vent. I was shocked and have to check through every corner inside and outside to make sure nothing else is loose or detached. Moreover, it works when you turn it on, and also when you walk around. The fan and light both will be on without any touch. It is annoying and sometimes kids got frightened. If the installation is not that difficult and exhaustive, I should have taken it off and return to Amazon.
