Excellent game. Earned my first Platinum Trophy!Playing through again on the "New Game + Ultra Hard" setting.Bit about me. I've been building computers and gaming since Zork in 1980. Now, I'm a father and gaming is relegated to a few hours a week as I can. I value my game time and will not invest time in games that do not provided me enjoyment. That being said I love single player story-line driven RPGs.This game is the right mix of action, fast pace, story-line, but allowing for short bursts of gameplay with long downtime between. Combat has enough choices and weapons to make strategy important, while not so over cumbersome that you have to re-wire your brain to simultaneously push 18 buttons in the correct sequence. I cared for the characters and their live, felt invested in their welfare (Its not the next Tolstoy novel, but it gives you enough to feel you know them). I've put 190 hours in and that is a huge investment for me. I have to put down the controller sometimes and not pick it back up for a week or two. This game allowed me to do that and feel like I was right back in as if there was no downtime. The characters are all different the creatures are all unique (I know I've seen others state that it is a clone of this or that game, but honestly I had not been this blown away by a games level of attention to detail and variety of characters/environments/creatures since the first Everquest was released.I hope this points to a return of the story driven games and the industry will not just focus all of their attention on the MMO shooter with no actual gameplay, just body count.

This is a great game for action/adventure/rpg fans. Similar in feel and mechanics to Witcher III, with a whole different background. The 'dystopian future where you wake up not knowing you are the savior of all that is left' genre is done well here, with a twist being the machines and the attack mechanics that add a sophisticated strategy layer. You have to understand the enemy and you must choose the right weapon, or you will find yourself dying over and over.My complaint about this game is the same I have for many 'post Witcher III' adventure titles. It just isn't big enough. Witcher III is SO massive and contains so much, with several additional content packs, that what you get for your initial $69 bucks, pales in comparison. Add in no DLC expansions and ZD just cannot be a 5 star for me. It's amazing, while it lasts.

THIRD PERSON SHOULD BE THE ONLY VIDEO GAME FORMAT.!!!!!!!. Video game stop being fun in place of realism thanks in part to that piece of crap game halo who destroys video games in my opinion video game you should be fun and you able to see your character in this video game they allows you to see your character in a beautiful beautiful world these developers didn't take the shortcut because They can't animate the character they could only animated background. I hate first person games with a passion. Because the first person shooter games and all the other companies trying to replicate and not give the player option to switch to third person this game allows you to do they didn't take the shortcut out by not animating a character. If you're a fan of god of war metal gear solid metal or any other video game that allowed to see your character and playing a game at the same time you're gonna love this one

No joke, one of the best games I've ever played!The story is deeply moving, exploring concepts of motherhood, social responsibility, self sacrifice, and the best and worst impulses of human nature. Aloy is a spirited and lovable protagonist that I enjoyed getting to know - I dearly hope we'll be getting a sequel so we can learn more of her story and the rich world Horizon: Zero Dawn has created.The gameplay itself is fun and engaging, similar to Assassin's Creed, though I consider the combat more fluid and enjoyable even than that series. There are lots of ways to play depending on how you prefer fight, with a simple advancement system accessible even to more casual gamers.All-in-all it's an excellent game, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for gameplay that's a BLAST and one of the most creative settings I've seen in a triple-A game in years.

Im not going to comment on the gameplay, as I have yet to play it, but obviously, it is awesome. Just want to make sure people know that this IS a 40 GB download, and it has NO mark in the status for a "Minimum" download to start playing like other downloads. I am at 19 Gb complete with no change, so pretty sure this requires the ENTIRE 40 Gb down to start playing. I know it is a pre-load, but my account got messed up, and didn't get it til launch day. If you are considering this, just be sure you are well aware of the time to download and install before you play, I could have ordered the disk, at a much cheaper price and had it delivered, installed, and be playing it before the download hits 50% complete. :)

Surprised hubby with this game for Father's Day. Got rave reviews from him! We are in our 30's and he has a plethora of PS4 games like Destiny, a couple of the Assassin's creed ones, a couple of the Walking Dead ones, and a few of the Tomb Raider games. He has also rented and played games like Titanfall 2, Witcher, etc. Amid all those, he claims this is THE best game he has ever played. Graphics were nice, game was very interesting. In fact, he's not much of a completionist but for this game even after he finished beating the game he is still playing to complete it. Since this was the first game I have paid retail price for, I was thrilled that it was such a hit. Worth every penny!

This game is amazing. The visuals are breathtaking and the combat mechanics give the player a lot of options. The range of weapons give you so many different ways to take down the robots. It makes for some really good strategic battles. Quality-wise, I would rank this up there with Uncharted 4 and the newer Tomb Raider games. This is a high quality action/adventure game.
