The Good: Easy to set up without a manual if you are familiar with security DVR's. Will accept two hard drives inside. I was concerned with the heat from two HD's, so I installed a little fan, but I soon disabled it due to the noise. Heat has not been a problem since. After connecting the HD, and video cord, turn it on and follow the directions. It helped me download the viewing app, and set up the ID for a quick connection with my Tracfone android phone. I also set it up on my PC by going to the company website and signing up for an account and then downloading the viewing program. You can view past recordings on the PC using the playback function.The Bad: The phone app works well with a slight delay with my wifi, but it only allows real time viewing, no playback functions! The PC program does allow playback, but can be slow if you try to sync view multiple cameras, and you do not have fast internet. The PC program is web browser based, and does not connect every time. Sometimes I have to try 2-3 times to sign on for a connection. The PC version also glitches, so I have to re-install the viewing program almost every time, after signing in. All this is with the old IE 11, Chrome and the new Edge browser does not work. Once signed in, and working, it is easier to navigate than the phone app. But the phone app works better for playback and is quicker for just a quick peek.and...The Ugly: I suspect the sign in and viewing program has to stream off the company servers, so privacy maybe an issue. Also if the company goes under, I wonder if that means the end of remote viewing also?? Fix the remote viewing program glitch after sign-in, and add playback on the phone app and I will gladly change this to 5 stars!!!9/16/2019 Update:For the past 6 mo. the desktop remote viewing did not work for me. I can log in but the browser app keeps showing an alert to download/install a viewer for the browser (even after I installed it again and again).The good news is that the android phone app works well. It almost always connects and allows live and recorded views after their last software update. Not user friendly but you can figure it out if you try all the buttons. A couple labels does not make sense, but has not affected the basic needs. This is not perfect, but I am happy with it for the price point. Average/Good product for a low price.11/27/2019 Update, changed to 2 stars due to malfuction in 2 of 3 units.Two out of the three (this same brand) I purchased in summer 2018 have stopped recording. I thought it was the hard drives that failed, but have narrowed it down to the DVR. The DVR works otherwise. It will recognize and format the hard drive but is unable to record onto it. I have tried new drives, and also the drive that works on the third DVR, but same thing. All hard drives work for the third DVR, but not for these two. So, these units have proven to be hit and miss, lasting just over one year for me (just past the 1yr warranty). I have purchased a cheap ZOSI brand 1080P to replace one of the DVR units. Have to learn the new interface, but everything seems to work so far, including the viewing app for windows pc and android phone.

Used this to replace a dead DVR. Setup was easy and fast. Value is outstanding, just put a good, large capacity HDD in it and you are good to go.

Although I had problems with this, their tech support is fantastic.Some of the issues were my fault. Some were problems with the unit.Bottom line, it does a great job here for my home, I can view this on the internet and my IphoneWhen I did have issues, the tech support was outstanding to walk us through the setup, internet access AND the remote viewing through the iphone

the DVR started out ok, but then it started rebooting every Tuesday 2-3 times, to rebooting every day 3-4 times a day...... I have tried over and over and can not find warranty support any where to send it in to get it fixed, I have tried several new hard drives with nothing changing.....I just wouldnt by from them ever unless they would fix or replace this DVR.....

Easy setup and easy to use if you previously have wiring already completed. Satisfied with price and reliability

Interface was a bit finicky. And had I lock up on me twice and had to reformat the drive to get it to work. Wouldn’t buy again.
