My application for a barcode reader is shelf management in stores -- recreating store sections in the computer so we can make new item or placement suggestions. This involves scanning either UPCs or shelf tags. Setup on the Esky could not be simpler -- plug the receiver into a USB port let the unit charge up and you are in business. Out of the box the scanner returns the UPC along with the check digit - the number on the right of a UPC tag that is mathematically calculated to ensure the code is correct. My software just wants the code without the check digit and there was no way to turn this off in the little book of setup codes that came with the unit. Esky tech support came through with setup code to turn this feature off. They were very responsive and didn't give up when the first try did not work. After working with wired scanners for a long time it is a joy to just grab the scanner and go.

It took several emails to support to get them to understand what I needed, but I got an email today with the bar codes to scan to add a pipe prefix to all scans. I was able to add the TAB suffix with instructions that came with it. I will put it in service Monday and we will see how it holds up. If it is still working in a month or so, I will order a dozen more.

I ordered two of these scanners for the purpose of scanning meals in a prison setting. The scanners do not always catch every scan with the volume that we are doing, they are approx. 98 percent accurate. The beeping of the scanner is very soft and therefore hard to hear in our setting. In a place with lower volume of use (we scan approx. 1200 times a day) this would be a wonderful product. Keep in mind I work in a prison and we are scanning offender ID cards for meals Now as for customer service, I rate this company off the charts, there are not enough stars to give their customer service the rating they deserve. They are quick to get back to emails and even replaced one of the scanners that malfunctioned. The item arrives in prompt time from ordering.

Great product, easy to program.Has not caused any issues after a couple weeks of use.Only drawback I’d say is the instruction manual contains instructions for a different model, but overall pretty easy to differentiate.

Very please with scanner

I have no tech support experience, because we have not needed to contact them! The sleep mode is adjustable and saves the charge nicely. Being wireless makes this unit more mobile. We have a few of these and plan to add more!

This is an adequate barcode reader for most non-retail small businesses. It scans and transmits well albeit a bit slowly if you are used to scanning multiple barcodes quickly. Reading barcodes through tape or that are hard to read is possible, but takes time. If you're in a fast-paced environment, look for another device.

The scanner was easy to setup and works fine on bar code that was printed on a label printer or a laser printer, but did not read bar codes from a receipt printer. I have other scanners that worked fine scanning the same bar code.
