Added Safety to the Sides While Riding Dark or Day
"Brightside" Bike Side Light(+) Nice small size.(+) Mounts securely. (I push the light to one side of its mounting bracket and use two velcro straps to "dummy cord" it to the frame as precaution against it coming detached inadvertently, but it has not fallen from its mount riding over rough terrain yet)(+) Light mounts perpendicular to the bike frame, to shoot amber light beams out from each side of the bike for lateral / side visibility. (1x Steady light mode or 2x flashing modes [1x simultaneous and 1x alternating]).(+) Large lighted soft push button on top for easy operation.(-) Charging port, on bottom side of the light body, is partially covered when light is centered in the mount (so to charge it the light must either be taken out of the mount each time (risking breaking the thin hard plastic mount) or one must keep the light pushed to one side of the mount (which I do).(-) Rode for two weeks (10+ rides of over 1 hour each) before charging. Took several hours plugged in (to the provided micro USB cable) to get it to "go green" again with a full charge.

The charge port cover failed (separated) the first time it was opened (UPDATE 11/29/22)
UPDATE of 11/29/22 I contacted the company and the OWNER answered my email. He welcomed my comments about charger cover and failure to charge (documented below). Sent me a brand new light, which I received today. Changed my rating to five stars because of the personal and kind attention by owner. Thanks, Aidan.ORIGINAL COMMENTS FOLLOW Like: Amber light is visible, although not brightly, it the daytime; gets attention if you're looking. Very bright at dusk or night. Very long battery life (a week's worth of rides, maybe 15 hours++). Solid construction. Can be charged (as from a power-pack) and operated at the same time, but long battery life probably makes this unnecessary.Dislike: The charge port cover failed (separated) the first time it was opened, thus negating any water resistance. The cover has no retention stub/knob at the attachment end that fits into the light body. I'm not ham-handed; the thing just fell out of its own accord, with no way to repair.UPDATE of 9/12/22 The light will not recharge now. As another reviewer has stated, you have to hold the USB terminal in place in order for the light to charge. Not gonna do that. Unsatisfactory.Because of these two failures (charge port cover and now the charge issue) I've changed my rating to one star from four. I leave one star because it did perform well for 9 months since I bought it.

Good side light, minor issues, offical specs in review
Bought this light to increase my visibility at intersections. Installation was easy, opted to use both rubber straps to secure the light to my bike. The micro usb port is odd, it requires a longer tip to charge since the port is recessed, they include a cable for this. The rubber cover over the usb port is flimsy and could easily break off. Wish they would release a USB C version.Official specs from their own manual (for some reason this info is not on amazon or their own website):Battery: Li-ion 3.7v 650mahCharge port: Micro USB (requires an extra long micro usb tip since the port is recessed in the housing)Cree LED - Amber - 1 LED per sideLight Modes:Double Flash - 15 lumens per LED - upto to 15h run timeFast Flash - 30 lumens per LED - upto 23h runtimeConstant Both - 15 lumens per LED - upto 2.5h runtimeAlternating Flash - 15 lumens per LED - upto 36hr runtime

Exactly as advertised
I purchased this light because I was recently hit by a 40 mph car veering at an angle. This attractive light fits on my bike's frame below the handlebars. It is bright and blinks so that it makes one visible even during the daytime. The mount seems secure, but I ride mostly on streets where jolts are seldom. I take all my lights with me when "parked," and this one is easy to remove and reattach. Amazon has the best price I've seen on this product. It certainly makes me feel more secure.

perfect side lighting
This side light is just what I was looking for: a bright flashing side light, and not white or red (which signify front and rear). So amber is perfect. The mount attaches with a rubber loop, which holds it quite securely on my Specialized road bike, with a fairly large down tube (from handlebars to crank). I ride over a couple of rough sections that really vibrate the bike, and the light has held so far.I can see why some people complain that the shield is not big enough to really shield your eyes. It wouldn't shield at all if you put it on upside down (under the top tube, for example). It is not an issue for me. I can hardly tell it's on (although I haven't ridden it for extended periods in pitch dark conditions). My only problem so far is that I locked my bike in a bad part of town, and I forgot to remove my side light or head light. Both were stolen with the bike locked right in front of the door to the restaurant! My mistake. Over the years, I've had the headlight, taillight, pump, tool pouch and helmet stolen (in front of the library). And the entire bike was stolen once when I forgot to lock it. Some people have no morals. (Fortunately he went straight to a bike shop that realized it was stolen and I got it back the same day!)

Happily changing my name to Fred
I already have front and rear lights, and have assumed that was good enough, but a few weeks ago while driving to work one dark morning, I was crossing a bike path and almost didn't see a cyclist because their head light had a narrow beam facing forward. The rear light wasn't visible, and they had no side facing lights or reflectors. So I found these while searching for side lights. They are bright and have a wide viewing angle. I'm going to highly visible from 360 degrees. I only wish they had usb-c charging.
