Everything You Need To Toilet Train Your Cat
Although it is just a piece of plastic and a sachet of catnip it is the guide you are really paying for.I started my cat on the citykitty on new years day and after a lot of drama we are on the 2nd last stage. The other reviews that state it doesn't work are the people that give up on training their cats. It is very hard work to train your cats its not easy at all (maybe for some) but i think it is well worth it and will save me loads of money in the long run.Tips/Hints that helped me train my 2 cats.Always use catnip it acts as a litter attract addictive (you will need to buy loads more) even if the cat eats a little its not a big deal, Ive seen my cat eat a lot stranger things. If you hear your cat meowing give it a cuddle or a treat to calm it down and put some more catnip down on the cittykitty. If you cut a ring out and the cat hasn't taken to it after 4 days go back a step until you feel he/she is ready. You need to keep the bathroom door wide open so it does feel safe as there is an big escape route. And last but not least DON'T GIVE UP just keep at it and you will succeed.

Should be called S***tyKitty
I dare not use this ... when I placed this flimsy excuse for an item under the toilet seat (as you're supposed to do) I was horrified to see that it pretty much came up level with the seat - meaning there was no depth for the litter and no way for the cat to cover its poops. The image on the front is very misleading - leading you to believe the insert will lie lower in the toilet bowl (or at least not on a level with the seat itself) than it actually does. As I placed it into position, images flashed through my head of my Ragdoll scattering litter to the four winds as she attempted to bury something that was actually un-buryable. Frantically pawing at the flimsy plastic, cat s*** would cover her pristine white paws, combining with the litter itself, making her upper leg area look like some pre-schooler's art project. After that, she'd bounce round the toilet for a while, smearing crap up the walls and across the floor, until it'd look like a form of feline dirty protest. No. I would not for a moment leave my house and trust my cat to use this feeble excuse for a cat carsey. I might as well scoop the crap out of her litter tray and decorate my downstairs toilet with it now, if that's the effect I'm going for. The consequences of using this system (whether or not it might work) are just too much to risk. So it's back to the drawing board when it comes to working out how to get my cat to squat on the toilet and relieve herself like a well-bred princess.

My cat is happy on stage 1 but its messy!
It is flimsy and I wonder how a heavier cat could use it ( ours is just 6 months old still so fairly light). She is using it on step one. It is MESSY! We are thinking about the bigger picture and persevering. I also taped a bin liner under the seat so litter doesn't go down the pan.If i were to purchase again I would look for a more middle range product as quite honestly toys come wrapped in thicker plastic than this. The box it comes in seems sturdier than the product BUT as our cat is still just a kitten its ok.

Wouldn't recommend
Quite frankly it's just too poorly built to work as it should. The product is too flimsy. Worked fine for the first use (getting the cat - about 6 months old - to jump onto the toilet as it's litter tray), the cat refused to use it once the first hole was made.Having to cut the hole in the cheap and thin plastic was tricky enough (sharp edges etc.), but due to the thiness the cat was too scared about it falling apart to use it with any confidence.Whilst it's very expensive (which is why I foolishly brought this one), I've brought the £45 "Litter Kwitter" instead which is modular (without cutting), and considerably more study and thicker. No risk of wobbling / flexing on the stages and as a result the cat is much happier using it.Avoid this one and buy the more expensive one. This is a classic example of "buy cheap, buy twice" I'm afraid. Lesson learnt!

It works :)
I trained my cat once using a similar method, and he used to pee and poo in the loo no problem. Then he got a problem with his back legs which meant he could not jump up onto the loo and I had to get a standard litter tray for him for a while. He has very little ability to jump now, but I got a small foot step and keep it by the toilet. I have re-trained him to jump up. I used the Citi-Kitty method and it works fine. I used a saw-dust base litter and the catnip. I don't like stones falling into the loo as it can block it. So the saw-dust litter is ideal for this. Also, I used a treat like Dreamies (he loves those) and I coaxed him to step onto the loo and to be on the loo or a while until he was happy to just be there. When I originally trained him it took longer - up to 3 months I think. But re-training was a lot easier, even for my slightly disabled cat :) ... about one month in all. It's simple and it works. Thank you Citi Kitty! :)

Good product
Good product, was a bit tricky at first, as my old cat is to old to get up on the toilet (he is 19 bless him) the other 2 cats manage fine.

Yes yes yes - just train your cat to use the human toilet!
Trained my kitten back in the day, success! But we've left the last ring on as it is more convenient for him. We just remove it when needed. Since then, I helped my mother train her older cat and again it's a success (she left 2 rings but it works for them).
